The practice
Red Spring Group is the advisory entity. Engagements are principal-led: every audit, design, and recommendation comes from me directly. I work with a small number of clients at a time so the work doesn't dilute.
The work I've shipped
I've owned monetization work for AI products at a public B2B SaaS. Most relevant to AI startups:
- The company's first usage-based credit system for AI features: credit sizing, budget guardrails, cap UX, and the customer-facing consumption dashboard.
- A committed-spend pricing model for AI products: sizing the commit-to-discount curve, designing the purchase flow, handling overage.
- The in-product consumption dashboard customers use to track AI usage across multiple products.
- The framework for sizing free monthly allocations per paid seat without cannibalizing revenue.
Why this niche
AI startups are doing in months what mature SaaS companies did over years: figuring out how to price token-metered, usage-driven products. The patterns transfer, but the buying motion, the customer base, and the velocity are different. The work I do is helping startups skip the failure modes I've already debugged at scale.
How I work
Three engagement shapes: pricing audit (4–6 weeks), credit-system design (8–12 weeks), monetization advisory retainer (monthly). All scoped tightly with written deliverables. I don't sell time-and-materials. See Services for the full breakdown.

All engagements run through Red Spring Group LLC. Standard MSA + SOW per engagement.
